Sometimes known as 'energy medicine' or 'vibrational medicine'. The biophysical approach sees human beings as networks of complex energy fields that interface with physical / cellular systems. Biophysical medicine uses specialised forms of energy to positively affect those energetic systems that may be out of balance due to disease states. The energetic network, which represents the physical / cellular framework of the body sometimes referred to as the biofield, is organised and nourished by 'subtle' energetic systems which coordinate the life-force. Biophysical medicine is particularly concerned with any environmental influence or toxins that may disrupt the body's biofield such as mercury from amalgam fillings or man-made electro-magnetic fields from wireless technology and high voltage electrical equipment. Biophysical measurements are used to determine the nature of the biofield disturbance. This can involve electrical measurement at acupuncture points or biofield analysis of a sample from the client such as hair or a drop of blood. In this way the practitioner looks for the underlying cause of the imbalance on a subtle energetic level. Some such disturbances can lie latent for many years until activated when normal defensive mechanisms of the body fail to suppress their expression. Neurological conditions such as dementia or multiple sclerosis may be examples of conditions related to delayed toxic effects from a previous latent viral infection.
